There is a metal zipper at back with hooks and eyes at the waistband

All buttons down the front are functional

probably best on 40" and under to retain length of skirt

As you can see in the photos these were very well loved. However, they are quite sturdy, the leather is not brittle ~ I tested them and they seem to have a fair amount of life in them still.
